Adopted October 27 2024 — The foundational charter of the Liberian National Muslim Council Diaspora Organization (LNMC-DO)
This Constitution defines the structure, governance, and guiding principles of the Liberian National Muslim Council Diaspora Organization (LNMC-DO). It serves as the supreme document regulating membership, leadership, finance, and amendments to ensure transparency, unity, and accountability across all LNMC-DO chapters worldwide.

Preamble
We, the members of the Liberian National Muslim Council Diaspora Organization (LNMC-DO), united by faith and shared heritage, hereby adopt this Constitution to promote brotherhood, good governance, and cooperation among all Liberian Muslims residing abroad.
Chapter I – Membership
Membership is open to all Liberian Muslims living in the diaspora who accept the mission, principles, and obligations of the organization. Members shall have rights to vote, participate in programs, and hold office in accordance with the bylaws. Membership may be revoked for misconduct or violation of the Constitution.
Chapter II – Governance
The governing structure of LNMC-DO shall consist of:
- General Assembly – the supreme decision-making body.
- Board of Directors – responsible for policy, oversight, and strategic direction.
- Executive Council – charged with day-to-day administration and program execution.
Each body shall operate under democratic principles and in accordance with established procedures.
Chapter III – Officers
The elected officers shall include a President, Vice President, Secretary-General, Treasurer, and such additional officers as determined by the General Assembly. Officers shall serve a two-year term and may seek re-election once. Their duties include implementing policies, managing records, and maintaining fiscal accountability.
Chapter IV – Meetings & Voting
The organization shall hold an Annual General Assembly and special meetings when necessary. All meetings require proper notice and quorum. Decisions shall be made by a majority vote of members present unless otherwise stated. Virtual participation shall be recognized as valid for quorum purposes.
Chapter V – Finance
The organization shall be funded through membership dues, donations, and approved grants. A transparent accounting system shall be maintained, and all financial records audited annually. The fiscal year shall begin on January 1 and end on December 31.
Chapter VI – Regional Chapters
LNMC-DO shall encourage the formation of regional or national chapters across countries where significant numbers of Liberian Muslims reside. Such chapters shall operate in harmony with the Constitution and report their activities to the Executive Council.
Chapter VII – Amendments
This Constitution may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the General Assembly, provided written notice of proposed amendments is circulated to all members at least 30 days prior to deliberation.
