Our Mandate

The Concerned Mandingo Society of Liberia (COMASL) is a leading advocacy group dedicated to fostering peaceful co-existence between Mandingoes and other ethnic groups in Liberia. Born out of the need to address post-civil war tensions, we champion land rights, authentic citizenship, and the development of war-torn communities in Nimba, Lofa, and Bong Counties.

Historic Milestone
The 2006 Peace Festival
The Event: On July 26, 2006, COMASL (Nimba Branch) and MURPA organized a historic gathering in Saniquellie and Ganta.
The Impact: Over 3,000 Mandingo youths gathered to extend a hand of peace to their Gio and Mano neighbors.
- ✅ Unity: Created a framework for inter-tribal reconciliation in a volatile region.
- ✅ Support: Diaspora members contributed $6,000 and 100 bags of rice to fuel the event.
- ✅ Endorsement: Directly supported national government efforts to resolve land disputes.
